Petworth House and Park
Petworth House and the stunning park was the ancestral home of the Percy family, and now in the custody of the National Trust, and is a fabulous place to visit.
A Grade I listed country home it is notable for its many treasures. The house has an incredible art collection built up by George Wyndham, the Earl of Egremont, including many by his great friend JMW Turner; intricate carvings by Grinling Gibbons; and the landscaped deer park by Capability Brown that includes the largest herd of fallow deer in the UK.
Dogs are welcome throughout the park and there is also an excellent cafe plus numerous events throughout the year.
